Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga in recent weeks and it appears that the Gunners have submitted an official bid to Anderlecht for the player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League side have offered around €17.5 million (£15m) to the Belgian club along with €4 million in add-ons.

The two clubs are yet to reach an agreement regarding the sell-on fee percentage and the Belgian outfit are looking to settle for 15%.

The Gunners have already agreed on personal terms with the player.

SL View: Long-term replacement for Xhaka

The 21-year-old central midfielder scored three goals and picked up three assists across all competitions last season and he could prove to be a quality long-term investment for the London club.

The Gunners could use some depth in the central midfield especially if Granit Xhaka leaves the club. The Swiss international has been linked with a move to Roma this summer.

Lokonga is highly talented and he has a big future ahead of him. He could be the ideal replacement for the Arsenal midfielder.

The 21-year-old central midfielder can operate in a defensive midfield position as well and his versatility could prove to be useful for Mikel Arteta during rotation and injuries.

Arsenal have a rich history of developing young players and the Belgian will be hoping to achieve his potential at Emirates if the move goes through this summer.
